Russian aerial attack kills at least 16 people in Kiev and surrounding areas
Officials said Russia launched a drone attack in Kyiv, Ukraine, that lasted for hours throughout the night, killing at least 16 people. Ukraine had reportedly been running low on its air-defence interceptors given to it by the United States, leading to the recent intensified strikes. These attacks came shortly after another air attack by Russia two weeks prior took 17 lives.
North Korea
North Korea fired missiles toward the sea after reports of the United States scaling back joint military drills
North Korea launched short-range missiles into its eastern waters amid reports that U.S. President Donald Trump told the Pentagon that he wanted a major pullback in joint military drills and exercises between the United States and South Korea. According to the U.S. military, these missiles traveled only about 300 kilometres. In response, South Korea increased its surveillance while urging North Korea to halt any possible attacks.
Iran
Trump threatens any country looking to support Iran
U.S. President Donald Trump threatened severe economic retaliation against any country that is looking to support Iran during the war. The United States has been unsuccessful in resolving the conflict that began on Feb. 28 with U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iranian military and nuclear facilities.
